BRIDGE OF SORROW by MARY LOUISE MORGAN

First Line: THERE IS A BRIDGE OF SORROW
Last Line: THAT MAYBE LOVE CAN HEAL.
Subject(s): GRIEF; SORROW; SADNESS;

There is a bridge of sorrow
I cannot walk with you.
It is so narrow
I must release your hand
And let you go alone.
I cannot go with you
Though I would
And reap a satisfaction
From your need of me.
I can but stand
With heavy, twisted heart
And wait tomorrow
When you shall come back to me
With simple sorrow
That maybe love can heal.
