DESPAIR by MARY LOUISE MORGAN

First Line: THE LOVELY PORCELAIN URN HAS CRACKED
Last Line: HAVE TURNED ASIDE.
Subject(s): DESPAIR;

The lovely porcelain urn has cracked.
A song has stopped.
Laughter has frozen to a dry sob.
My heart cries out in a strange new silence—
Heartache, frustration, and pain
Have bewitched me into one I know not
And have blinded my eyes.
Fear has drenched me with despair
Until I know not where to turn.

And you whose love alone could help
Have turned aside.
