A MEMORY OF LOVE by MAX MORINAGA

First Line: IT IS ONLY A MEMORY
Last Line: HOW TORMENTING THEY CAN BE!
Subject(s): LOVE - BEGINNINGS;

It is only a memory
That comes to me at every dusk
When the sun is fast sinking in the west
That I begin to recall a memory:
The memory of my first --
And only love!

Though I have loved -- and lost,
Still, this memory brings to me
A keen sad joy for memories:
How soothing and yet,
How tormenting they can be!
