AVATAR AND THE MANGER by HARRY WILLIAM NELSON

First Line: TONIGHT THE DESERT SANDS / HAVE WHISPERED OF
Last Line: HAVE FRANKINCENSE AND MYRRH.
Subject(s): NIGHT; BEDTIME;

Tonight the desert sands
Have whispered of a thing
Come out of stranger lands
Of no remembering.

What, Little One, have You
To do with singing hosts
That only bring anew
A Golgotha of ghosts?

What crossroads of the sky
Led you astray this night?
What was it turned Your eye
To see this earth-bound light?

All through eternity
Forget the stars that stir
Beyond this pale, for we
Have frankincense and myrrh.
