HEAVEN by CONDE BENOIST PALLEN

First Line: A LITTLE CHILD, A LITTLE CHILD
Last Line: TO SHOW TRUE HEAVEN IS ALL ABOVE.
Subject(s): BIRTH; CHILDREN; PARENTS; CHILD BIRTH; MIDWIFERY; CHILDHOOD; PARENTHOOD;

MOTHER

A little child, a little child
With childish prattle at my knee:
I did not know how near was Heaven,
And now how far is Heaven from me.

FATHER

Nay, nearer now, since Heaven holds,
As hostage of our plighted love,
The child that Heaven gave, and took
To show true Heaven is all above.
