A SHOWER by MABEL ETHLEEN PALMER

First Line: SEE, THE CLOUDS IN TROOPS ARE MUST'RING
Last Line: BRILLIANT, BEAUTIFUL, AND CLEAR.
Subject(s): RAIN;

See, the clouds in troops are must'ring
While the sky seems overcast;
'Mid the hurry and the scurry
Go wee cloudlets scamp'ring past.
Now a golden streak of lightning
Pierces through the leaden sky --
Flashes follow one another
Leading dashing raindrops by;
Sunshine comes, and raindrops falter,
Then in serried lines draw near,
And a rainbow spans the heavens,
Brilliant, beautiful, and clear.
