PACKING THE WEIGHT by WILLIAM A. PHELON

First Line: IT'S EASY WHEN YOU BREEZE ALONG
Last Line: CAN YOU STILL PACK WEIGHT AND WIN?
Subject(s): GRIEF; HAPPINESS; LIFE; LIFE CHANGE EVENTS; SORROW; SADNESS; JOY; DELIGHT;

IT'S easy when you breeze along
Upon life's sportive track,
With all the course smoothed out ahead,
No burdens on your back;
It's pleasant then—but how's your nerve?
Does firmness hold your chin
When sudden troubles bear you down?
Can you still pack weight and win?

It's gorgeous when the cheering crowd
Admires your speed and style—
No worries, not a single care
To warp your gleeful smile;
The world is joyous when the pace
Is soft—but can you grin
When everything turns wrong way 'round?
Can you still pack weight and win?
