WOMEN by WILLIAM A. PHELON

First Line: IF YOU TAKE THEM TO THE BALL GAME
Last Line: THE CONTRADICTORY FISH!
Subject(s): BASEBALL; CONTRARINESS; MAN-WOMAN RELATIONSHIPS; SPORTS; WOMEN; MALE-FEMALE RELATIONS;

IF YOU take them to the ball game
They say they do not care
For anything like this—they wish
It was the track, so there!
You take them to the race track,
And (when they've lost your dough)
They wish that they had gone, instead,
To see a movie show.
You take them to a movie,
And then they mourn and wish
That they were at the ball park—
The contradictory fish!
