TO THE DISTANT PRINCESS by AUSTIN PHILIPS

First Line: PRINCESSE LOINTAINE, WHOSE REGAL SWAY
Last Line: PRINCESSE LOINTAINE!
Subject(s): COURTSHIP; LOVE; PASSION;

@3PRINCESSE LOINTAINE,@1 whose regal sway
I next shall own, a passing day,
Until our mutual passion pall,
Blonde or brunette, @3petite@1 or tall,
Which will you be, my far-off fay?

Pensive or bright, or @3triste,@1 or gay,
A novice, or in amorous play
Expert to give—and take—a fall,
@3Princesse Lointaine?@1

It matters not a bit. You may
Be all of these, or none. Delay
Alone annoys. A willing thrall,
With new-swept heart, for love I call ...
And lack of use promotes decay,
@3Princesse Lointaine!@1
