AUGURY by GRACE BROWN PUTNAM

First Line: STREAMS OF GOLDEN SUNLIGHT SPILLED
Last Line: AND THE AGE-OLD URGE OF SPRING.
Subject(s): OLD AGE;

Streams of golden sunlight spilled
From the sky's clear crystal cup
On the bare earth-winter chilled—
That so rapturous drinks it up;
Hints of leafage, greenish blurs,
On the twigs' stark brownness bring
Tidings of the primal stirs
And the age-old urge of spring.
