KINDLY DEATH by GRACE BROWN PUTNAM

First Line: DEATH TOUCHED HER, NOT DECAY
Last Line: AND CLOSED HER EYES A WHILE.
Subject(s): DEATH; LOVE; RELATIONSHIPS; REST; SILENCE; DEAD, THE;

Death touched her, not decay,
Nor yet the wastage of the years;
Death's was the gentler way,
I owned it through my tears.
Death did not mar her rounded cheek
Nor change her lovely smile;
He only said, "She may not speak,"
And closed her eyes a while.
