UNFINISHED SONG by ESTHER REINECKE

First Line: IT HANGS UNFINISHED IN THE AIR
Last Line: MY UNSHED TEARS.
Subject(s): GRIEF; SELF; SINGING & SINGERS; SORROW; SADNESS;

It hangs unfinished in the air,
Unsung. .... a shimmering mist
Of platinum hair;

A gleam obscured by silver veil,
Subdued. .... a transient light
On starry trail;

Entombed in boundless space on space
It floats. .... to rest, untried
Before God's face;

Enmeshed by silken folds of years,
It waits. .... to kiss and bless
My unshed tears.
