AT THE SHOE-MENDING SHOP by MABEL KINGSLEY RICHARDSON

First Line: HERE'S A HOMELY GATHERING
Last Line: TO FAR PERPLEXING PLACES.
Subject(s): OLD AGE; WEARINESS; FATIGUE;

Here's a homely gathering,
Rows of rusty shoes
Waiting on the shoe-man's shelves,
Resting, two by twos.

Theirs a wistful weariness,
As of tired faces
After long, long journeyings
To far perplexing places.
