THE THIRD CHRISTMAS by LEXIE DEAN ROBERTSON

First Line: MARY AT HER WINDOW
Last Line: GOD'S WILL MUST BE.
Subject(s): CHRISTMAS; NATIVITY, THE;

MARY at her window:

Tonight the blue star shines upon our hill
As on the cattle shed brief years ago ...
What is it strikes my heart with sudden chill?
@3I do not want to know!@1

My Baby quietly sleeps in His white bed.
How foolish is this sense of coming loss!
So sweet He lies with little arms outspread.
@3Why should I see a cross?@1

I shall look out again at His bright star.
It minds me of the time when angels sang,
And makes me dimly glad. @3Though dark years scar,
God's will must be.@1
