SPIRITUAL SONNET: THE STREAM OF LIFE by WILLIAM WRIGHTSON EUSTACE ROSS

First Line: ANGELIC FIGURES GLIDING IN THE STREAM
Last Line: MINDS WHERE A LASTING MELODY IS SUNG.
Subject(s): ANGELS; LIFE;

Angelic figures gliding in the stream
Of life, with a celestial sky above,
Show forth, embody the great rule of love
There underneath the illuminating beam
That through this spiritual zone doth gleam,
Making, itself, those mobile natures move—
Though none against the benign current strove—
Through the bright regions where fair spirits teem;
Where all is life and motion that employs
The energies ever of the creative light
That gleams and shows each heavenly nature young,—
The living light, mild, active, in the night
Even, of earth, most steadily fills with joys
Minds where a lasting melody is sung.
