OUT OF SIGHT by VIRGINIA RUSS

First Line: THE DISENCHANTMENT OF DISTANCE
Last Line: YOU MAY STILL SING, I DO NOT HEAR.
Subject(s): SIGHT;

The disenchantment of distance
Has blurred for me your well-known face,

The warmth of the hard band of your arms
Is blotted out by time and space,

The alchemy of distance has dissolved
The whisper of your deep song in my ear.

Time and indifference are so --
You may still sing, I do not hear.
