SILENCE by SYDNEY KING RUSSELL

First Line: SILENCE WALKS THROUGH THE CITY
Last Line: HOW BEAUTIFUL SHE WAS.
Subject(s): BEAUTY; CITIES; SILENCE; URBAN LIFE;

Silence walks through the city,
But no one turns to stare,
For no one sees that Silence
Has roses in her hair.

And no one follows Silence
Upon her quiet way
Or wonders at her beauty.
But there will come a day

When strangers will remember
They heard her softly pass,
And cry one to another
How beautiful she was.
