ADELAIDE CRAPSEY by EMMY VERONICA SANDERS

First Line: YOU WHOM DEATH WRUNG
Last Line: WATCH THE GRAY NIGHT SUSPEND A HAGGARD MOON.
Subject(s): CRAPSEY, ADELAIDE (1878-1914);

You whom Death wrung
That you might thus achieve
Crystalline drops of beauty,
Do not grieve
That from the sun-drenched purple places
They gathered you so soon . . .

Envy us not who may,
With withered faces,
Watch the gray night suspend a haggard moon.
