THE BENEFACTOR by BEN SARA OF SANTAREN

First Line: AND WHEN THE TRAVELLERS BY NIGHT
Last Line: THE RIVER THAT BETWEEN THEM FLOWS.

And when the travellers by night
Began his praises to recite,
And through the dusty desert spread
The scent of musk beneath his tread,

I knew from that fair eulogy
How fair is his philanthropy,
As green and verdant banks disclose
The river that between them flows.
