AUTUMN (DOUBLE OAK MOUNTAIN - ALABAMA) by IDA DREAM SCHWARTZ

First Line: HUSHED AND OLD
Last Line: OF STIFF WHITE BIRCH STIRRING LIKE GHOST.
Subject(s): AUTUMN; MOUNTAINS; SEASONS; FALL; HILLS; DOWNS (GREAT BRITAIN);

Hushed and old,
These grey-grown brothers stand
Watching October's gypsy gold
Wither and go into Winter's hand.

Death camps here now;
The oak and all her stalwart host
Are still and silent, save a row
Of stiff white birch stirring like ghost.
