THE ELIZABETHAN POETS by MARTHA HALE SHACKFORD

First Line: LIKE SLENDER, RIPPLING WILLOW LEAVES
Last Line: ETERNALLY ARE GLAD.
Subject(s): POETRY & POETS; WELLESLEY COLLEGE;

LIKE slender, rippling willow leaves
Against the shining sun,
All golden green and quivering,
When day has scarce begun,

So seem those softly ringing songs,
In fresh young motion clad,
Where all indwelling lives and loves
Eternally are glad.
