IMPERIALISM by BERTRAND SHADWELL

First Line: IF YOU SEE AN ISLAND SHORE WHICH HAS NOT BEEN GRABB'D BEFORE
Last Line: CRIME IS CHRISTIAN WHEN IT'S CLEARLY UNDERSTOOD.
Subject(s): BROTHERHOOD; CRIME & CRIMINALS; IMPERIALISM; NATIONS; PROPERTY; POSSESSIONS;

If you see an island shore which has not been grabb'd before,
Lying in the track of trade as islands should;
With the simple native quite unprepared to make a fight,
O you just step in and take it for his good.

O you just step in and take it for his good,
Not for money be it clearly understood.
But you row yourself to land with a Bible in your hand,
Crime is Christian when it's clearly understood.
