A SAINT by FREDERIC FAIRCHILD SHERMAN

First Line: SHE MADE A SACRIFICE OF LOVE
Last Line: BOTH DAY AND NIGHT.
Subject(s): WORSHIP;

She made a sacrifice of love
To God above,
And when He reads the open scroll
Of her sweet soul
He will find nothing written there
But hymn and prayer.

Her thoughts were like the lights divine
Before a shrine;
And she it was, a patient nun,
Who kept each one
About the altar always bright
Both day and night.
