WHEN SPRING BEGINS by GEORGIA DAY SHERWOOD

First Line: WHEN SAP IS RISING IN EACH TREE
Last Line: TAKE FLOWER ONCE MORE AS SPRING BEGINS.
Subject(s): SPRING;

When sap is rising in each tree,
I feel the youth arise in me,
Which long ago burst into flame,
Before the snow of sorrow came.

When trees send forth their leaves again,
I cease to think of mortal pain,
And let my thoughts of happier things,
Take flower once more as spring begins.
