A SOUL'S REFLECTION by MRS. GALE SPINK

First Line: THEY JUDGED HER COMMON IN HER EARLY YOUTH
Last Line: DAME NATURE'S GIFT REVEALED A FACE DIVINE.
Subject(s): FACES; SIMPLICITY; UGLINESS;

They judged her common in her early youth;
She had no lines of beauty to decry.
Dame Nature dealt her badly in the game—
She gave her life, then cruelly passed her by.

In later years an artist deftly traced
A form perhaps imperfect as to line,
A figure bent beneath the cross of years:
Dame Nature's gift revealed a face divine.
