AUTUMN by CHARLES G. STATER

First Line: SUNFLOWERS STAND
Last Line: CLIMBS A VIOLET MIST.
Subject(s): AUTUMN; SEASONS; FALL;

Sunflowers stand
By the gates of September,
Troops of Helianthus
With Autumn keep tryst,
Across a wide bar
Spills the gold of a sunset,
And up the gray cliff
Climbs a violet mist.
