AN EXCHANGE OF FORTUNE by STATYLLIUS FLACCUS

First Line: WHO SOUGHT FOR DEATH, SOME GOLD ESPYING
Last Line: ESPIED THE NOOSE, AND SLIPPED IT ON.

WHO sought for death, some gold espying,
Slipped off the noose that he was tying.
Who sought the gold, and found it gone,
Espied the noose, and slipped it on.
