AFTER A LITERARY TEA by PAUL SUMMERS

First Line: I HOPED THE GODS I'D SEE
Last Line: I MUST NOT VISIT GODS AGAIN.

I hoped the gods I'd see
Were beautiful and tall.
I never thought they'd be
So sallow, old and small.
One thing to me is very plain,
I must not visit gods again.
