THE MYNAH BIRD by PAUL SUMMERS

First Line: THE MYNAH BIRD IS A TAWDRY THING
Last Line: THE MISERY OF SINGERS -- WITH HALF A SONG!
Subject(s): MYNAH BIRDS; MINA BIRDS; MYNA BIRDS;

The Mynah bird is a tawdry thing
With robin's head and blackbird's wing,
A croaking jester of the feathered clan --
An ugly thing in a lovely land.

Still, in his broken caroling
Have I often heard him sing
Notes that have wrung my heart so long --
The misery of singers -- with half a song!
