TIME MENDS by HAROLD VINAL

First Line: TIME MENDS A RUINED WALL AS WELL
Last Line: ARE SINGING VERNAL ORISIONS.
Subject(s): HEALING; NATURE; REPAIRING; TIME; CURES; MENDING;

Time mends a ruined wall as well
As hands can ever hope to do;
A gap is covered with laurel,
Where yesterday the cows went through.

And spring can cover the debris
Along the brooks when the snow goes,
With violets a jubilee,
And bursting bud ends turning rose.

And though there is no hope of bird,
Singing where the freshet runs,
Twenty, though it seem absurd,
Are singing vernal orisions.
