NEST OF DREAMS by HELEN FIELD WATSON

First Line: SOMETIMES ONE HAS A DREAM WITHIN A DREAM
Last Line: AND WHAT, REALITY.
Subject(s): DREAMS; REALITY; NIGHTMARES;

Sometimes one has a dream within a dream,
This makes the outer one seem
Real. And always, what we do in sleep
Is life, -- until we wake.
Then reason enters in
To tell us our mistake.

I wonder if this state we know so well
As life is but another dream,
From which we wake at death
To learn what reason is
And what, reality.
