THE CATBIRD by HELEN FIELD WATSON

First Line: ON MOUNTAIN-TOPS OF JOY HE SINGS, QUITE CLEAR
Last Line: "A SNEERING—""SIN?—AW—YOU—YES—YOU—TOO—SIN!"
Subject(s): DEATH; HEAVEN; DEAD, THE; PARADISE;

On mountain-tops of joy he sings, quite clear,
"Heaven, heaven is near, is near. It's very near!"

In gutter hours his raucous squalls begin
A sneering—"Sin?—Aw—you—yes—you—too—sin!"
