Barrens of cinder crags and ragged lava massed along the great rift. Cones changing from brilliant red to deepening purple as evening comes, -- while the jagged peaks of the Sawtooth Range tower in the distance. Great Owl Cavern, Indian Tunnel, Needles Cave, -- haunted cavern with icy breath weaving frost crystals on stalactites hanging in bizarre shapes from arched domes.
