ADRIFT by ELIZABETH DICKINSON WEST

First Line: UNTO MY FAITH, AS TO A SPAR, I BIND
Last Line: COME SAFE TO LAND, AND LOVE BE LEFT BEHIND.

Unto my Faith, as to a spar, I bind
My Love--and Faith and Love adrift I cast
On a dim sea. I know not if at last
They the eternal shore of God shall find.

I only know that neither waves nor wind
Can sunder them; the cords are tied so fast
That Faith shall never--doubts and dangers past--
Come safe to land, and Love be left behind.
