PASQUE'S RETURN by FANNIE BARRIER WILLIAMS

First Line: AGAIN THE PASQUE! AGAIN THE GIFT OF BEAUTY
Last Line: IS LYING IN THE BEAUTY OF THE CUP.
Subject(s): BEAUTY; SPRING;

Again the Pasque! Again the gift of beauty,
The pointed chalice with its heart of gold!
Once more resurgence from a long quiescence!
Once more the Springtime by the purple told!
Again the hands of happy little children
Are filled with blossoms for a token sweet;
At last the bleakness of the far-flung prairies
Is broken by the color at our feet.
Again it brings its gift for mortal healing;
Again it holds its gorgeous bounty up;
Perchance we find a soul's revivifying
Is lying in the beauty of the cup.
