THE MAD PROPHET by FRANK WILMOT

First Line: PHANTOMS IN LILAC HUES
Last Line: INTO MEN'S HAVENS.

PHANTOMS in lilac hues
Follow forever;
Patter of laughter pursues
All my endeavour.

Shadows with passionate hands
Hold me and mould me;
Utter terrific commands --
What have they told me?

Phantoms in following light
Tread out a measure;
Bring me a music bright
With ghostly treasure.

Hear me! I am of those
Wreckers and cravens,
Luring God's fire-ships close
Into men's havens.
