A MOTE IN YOUR EYE by MARY R. WRIGHT

First Line: YOU FOUND THE MOTE IN MY EYE
Last Line: WHEN HEARTS ARE TRUMPS IN THE DEAL.
Subject(s): HEARTS;

You found the mote in My eye
And have pointed out my faults alone
Then you checked them all against me
But failed to count your own.

I can see a mote in your eye,
One that you never see.
I wonder why I should love you
When you do not care for me?

If this should be only infatuation
I do not know which, or why;
Perhaps I can analyze the problem
When you find the mote in your eye.

I'm sure that I would be happy
To measure up as your ideal.
You know how to play the game
When hearts are trumps in the deal.
