THE MEADOW BROOK by ANNETTE WYNNE

First Line: THE MEADOW BROOK IS ALWAYS A HAPPY ELF
Last Line: Because when no one is around, he plays all by himself
Subject(s): BROOKS;

THE meadow brook is always a happy little elf,
For when there's no one else around, he plays all by himself;
He looks up at the sky and trees and never feels alone
And rushes by each swaying grass and leaps on every stone;
He's busy and he's happy the whole long summer day,
Altho' there's not a soul around to talk to him or play.
The meadow brook's a very merry busy little elf.
Because when no one is around, he plays all by himself.
