IN A FACTORY by ANNETTE WYNNE

First Line: IF YOU MADE YOUR PICTURE
Last Line: OF ME AND YOU.
Subject(s): FACTORIES; POETRY & POETS;

If you made your picture
And I made my song,
Think you they would give us bread
All the year long?

The great wheels of the city
Grind clothing and grind bread,
And what if we offered
Songs, pictures, instead?

So, I'll make the petticoat,
You make the shoe, --
That's what the world wants
Of me and you.
