SPECTATORS by ANNETTE WYNNE

First Line: WE WATCHED THE MONKEYS IN THE CAGE
Last Line: THEY TURNED AND GRAVELY LAUGHED AT US.
Subject(s): ANIMALS; APRIL; CAGES; MONKEYS; ZOOS;

WE watched the monkeys in the cage
All their scratching, fun, and fuss,
We laughed at them; with manners sage
They turned and gravely laughed at us.
