THE MAYOR'S CHILDREN by ANNETTE WYNNE

First Line: TO BE THE MAYOR'S CHILDREN IT MUST BE
Last Line: AND LET YOU BE THE CHIEFEST ONE IN EVERY KIND OF PLAY.
Subject(s): CHILDREN; SEPTEMBER; CHILDHOOD;

TO be the Mayor's children it must be lots of fun,
With two big lamps outside your door when other doors have none;
And all the children in the street would envy you all day,
And let you be the chiefest one in every kind of play.
