AD ASTRA: 125 by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: MAN'S CONQUESTS OVER MATTER-DO THEY MOVE
Last Line: TO HEIGHTS BEYOND THE HEIGHTS HE DID EMPRISE?
Subject(s): GOD; MANKIND; HUMAN RACE;

Man's conquests over Matter—do they move
From God, or from his own determinate will?
For what do his so-vast achievements prove
But that all hazards yield to mortal skill,
Indomitable courage, scorn of ill?—
How through repeated failures man may rise
To heights beyond the heights he did emprise?
