AD ASTRA: 126 by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: HOW ELSE HAD THE PHARAONIC PRIESTHOOD CURB'D
Last Line: THAT THEIR OWN PERSEVERANCE DID NOT STEAL?
Subject(s): HEAVEN; RELIGION; PARADISE; THEOLOGY;

How else had the Pharaonic Priesthood curb'd
The mighty waters of triumphant Nile?
How else had the Phœnician prows disturb'd
The long, still dream of many a slumbering Isle,
Lull'd by the gentle plash of waves erstwhile?
Idolators! what did High Heaven reveal
That their own perseverance did not steal?
