AD ASTRA: 130 by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: IF CONSCIENCE THRO' THE WORLD OF LIFE DOTH REIGN
Last Line: WHOSE SANCTION WAS MORALITY IN FINE!
Subject(s): MORALITY; ETHICS;

If Conscience thro' the world of life doth reign,
An instinct born and disciplined of dread—
In man evolved from punishment and pain,
Thro' æons upon æons perfected,
Owning the mighty impress of the dead—
What of the still Small Voice we deem'd divine,
Whose sanction was Morality in fine!
