AD ASTRA: 132 by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: GRANT THIS MUTE SENSE STIRS IN THE BRUTE CREATION
Last Line: IT DIFFERENTIATES THE BRUTE FROM MAN!
Subject(s): MANKIND; NATURE - RELIGIOUS ASPECTS; HUMAN RACE;

Grant this mute sense stirs in the brute creation—
O what but Conscience makes the Lion cower
Before the eye of Man and learn his station,
Tho' greater far in strength and valorous power?
Man's overlordship Conscience doth not lower,
And, far from levelling all on Nature's plan,
It differentiates the brute from Man!
