AD ASTRA: 28 by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: O NATURE, LOVELY CHARMER, GENTLE BRIDE!
Last Line: UNTIL IN DREAMY TRACTS OF BLUE THEY DIE.
Subject(s): NATURE;

O Nature, lovely charmer, gentle bride!
Thy golden days draw to a tragic end!
The encroaching millions whelm thee like a tide—
A desecration and a doom impend
Where sylvan vales now fold on fold extend
In widening prospect 'neath the unsullied sky
Until in dreamy tracts of blue they die.
