AMBITION AND ATTAINMENT by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: EACH MAN WOULD WISH TO BE HIS OWN GOOD-MASTER
Last Line: SINCE HAPPIEST HE WHO ALL TOO LATE ATTAINS!
Subject(s): AMBITION;

EACH man would wish to be his own good-master
—Freedom the distant goal to which he strains.
Sad that such strenuous toil should court disaster,
Since happiest he who all too late attains!
