ON DEATH by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: WHY SHOULDST THOU FEAR THE DEATH TO COME?
Last Line: AND MAKE THE PARTING LESS AND LESS.
Subject(s): DEATH; HEAVEN; MORTALITY; RELIGION; DEAD, THE; PARADISE; THEOLOGY;

WHY shouldst thou fear the Death to come?
Why, Mortal, shouldst thou dread the tomb?
Thou canst not one sweet minute gain
Nor stay the Hand that stilleth pain.
Then bravely meet the silent Foe,
—@3If@1 Foe He be Who ends thy woe!
For at the worst—Forgetfulness,
And at the best—Great Happiness
Will minister to thy distress,
And make the parting less and less.
