THE SKAITH OF GUILLARDUN: 17 by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: NOW WHEN SIR ELIDUC LEARNT HOW IT FARED
Last Line: FROM THAT BEGIRT AND VENERABLE KING.
Subject(s): KNIGHTS & KNIGHTHOOD;

Now when Sir Eliduc learnt how it fared
With the frail king, and that he suffer'd much
At those remorseless hands, which neither spared
Woman nor babe caught up in their fell clutch,
Like true knight-errant, he his arms prepared
For Excester, where his address was such
That he received a gracious welcoming
From that begirt and venerable king.
