THE SKAITH OF GUILLARDUN: 3 by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: IN BRITTANY THERE LIVED A STAINLESS KNIGHT
Last Line: IN PEACE HIS COUNSEL MORE AND MORE PREVAIL'D.
Subject(s): FIGHTS; KNIGHTS & KNIGHTHOOD;

In Brittany there lived a stainless knight,
In gentleness no maid could tenderer be,
Yet mark him moving thro' the press of fight
And none more terrible in arms than he.
The strong are ever sparing of their might—
Mercy the radiant child on Valour's knee.
And as in war his courage none assail'd,
In peace his counsel more and more prevail'd.
